A demo for Dungeon Siege III for the Xbox 360 will be coming out by the end of this month, according to Square Enix. The version for Playstation 3 and PC will be coming out a few days later.
News about what the demo will contain has not yet been released, and therefore has caused further anticipation for the games' debut. We do know that there is a co-op mode, and critics are excited about that. The demo for Xbox will be available by May 31st while those with a PS 3 or PC can try out the game beginning June 7th. The game is supposed to be fully released by the 17th of June, 2011.
Dungeon Siege III is a joint project of Obsidian Entertainment and Gas Powered Games. The latest installment is said to include a new co-op mode. One plays as one of the disgraced protectors of the land of Ehb after the balance of power has been upset. You are supposed to rebuild the Legion and save the land. Along the way, you will recruit companions and make decisions which will ultimately affect the way the game ends.
“There will be some things that are very much like Dungeon Siege 1 and 2, but some things will be simplified,” Gas Powered Games boss, Chris Taylor, said in an earlier interview with Eurogamer.net.
“I am done with multi-character parties; I really think that it's all going to be about a single hero. It's too much to manage,” Taylor said.
“It's a great pleasure to collaborate with Obsidian. They are a very talented developer who really knows what it takes to build a deep and engaging RPG experience, and I can't think of a better group to continue the Dungeon series,” Taylor told IGN.com
Wallpapers can be obtained at the Dungeon Siege website. Those who pre-order the game will get four bonus items to boost up the stats of his or her character. PC pre-orders through Steam include the first two Dungeon Siege games without any extra cost.
